Hey everyone! I’m new here so if you don’t know who I am (you probably don’t) or what I do, I’m Kendra! Welcome to my blog! I guess I should start from the beginning. This all started around May of 2019. I make Youtube videos ( The Rivera Family, yes shameless plug) and I was on my way to being monetized, if you don’t know what that is, it’s basically you get ads placed in your videos that you get paid for. Youtube changed their policies and made it harder for smaller channels to become monetized. Well, one day I decided I would make a mom group on facebook that basically was a group of mom influencers, I called it, yes you guessed it, Momfluencers. The group was and still is small but I was able to connect with other moms who had similar goals. I ended up connecting with one of the moms in particular who was giving me tips and tricks on climbing the social media ladder and win over brands for brand deals. One thing that stuck out that she said was to start a blog.
Have a space to call your own
Making money and brand deals are great but it’s also great to have a space where you can just come and lay it all out there. The space is completely yours and you are able to share your real thoughts and feelings. Other platforms are great but a blog is literally the only place you can be unfiltered and uncensored. Your blog is your own little special place and you may have 1 or 1,000 other people who can relate to what YOU have to say. Be yourself and make sure you have a space to do that.
This isn’t just an outlet but a side hustle you can get paid from
I’m sure you’ve heard it before, or maybe you haven’t but a blog could be a side hustle that you could even turn into a full-time income! When you learn your footing and learn how to monetize your blog the possibilities are endless. There are quite a few bloggers who make over 100K a year and plenty of tutorial on different platforms where these same bloggers show you exactly how they did it. They teach you how to find your niche, target market, and show you step by step what to do. I have so many pins on Pinterest on these very subjects and I have found them extremely helpful. The information is out there, all you have to do is look. Some of you may say, “Well the market is too saturated.” One of the amazing bloggers that are out there said,
“Even if something’s been done before, it’s never been done by YOU. That’s enough reason to do it, especially if you really want to.”
